These Detroit Lockers work in a First Gen?

I've got a 2000 2WD, and would like to add a locker. Can't afford an ARB, but could possibly afford one of these in the near future.

Only If you have the rare open carrier differential. Not sure they were ever available in a Xterra as most came with a LSD. I know the diff was available in certain Nissan Frontiers.

Even if you have an open locker, I don't think the Xterra was ever a 31 spline. Maybe someone who really knows can confirm.

Some early frontiers had 29 splines. I think most pathfinders were 29, but as far as I know there were no xterras with 29.

The 2wd X's came with C200 not H233B IIRC, and, those were also 33 spline...but I think there were Frontier's rear's that had 31 splines...and, that might be what to swap in, even though its a downgrade in strength.

Well that's not the news I wanted to hear. Only option other than swapping rear ends is the ARB, right?
