Stock head unit no longer taking in CDs :(

sup guys.

so for the past few months ive been dealing with my stock head unit not taking in CDs. i hear the feeder attempting to work but it wont bite and take in the CD. this really sucks cuz i have multiple playlists on my laptop waiting to be burned on some blank CDs (im not an MP3 player/Aux kind of guy).
this is the factory unit that came with my X. Im sure its ether this or the 6 disc changer in all first gens.



so the question i have for you car audio gurus today is, is this fixable or should i get a new factory unit or an aftermarket one? it would be cool to have an after market head unit but i dont really want to drop + $120-$150 on one.

I dropped about 70 on mine 5 years ago and never turned back.

It's really.all up to what you want to do. I don't know if it's fixable personally.

Not worth fixing. Head to your local car stereo dealer (crutchfield) and buy a new head unit.

thanks. are these easy to install? and what did you use to fill the gap seeing that this head unit is half as thick?

It's like a mount you'd have to get as well. It like gives you a spot to put stuff lol. I can find pics in the morning. I mean the hardest part was soldering wires but it's not too bad

What is a CD????? have not seen or heard of that animal in a long time, in facet I thought they were extinct in first and second world countries. Living only on the fringe of society in Mongolia, Uzbeckistan, and sub saharan africa.
