Haven't been here in a while but I'm planning to revitalize the x a bit now that I have a shop and good tools.
So I really have had no problems with the x until about 150k. Then i started having starting issues.
At 179K I replaced the starter and battery about 6 months ago (stock battery to optima yellow top). Fixed an oil leak above the starter that cause the original starter to die and was driving good for a while.
For the past two weeks I have had some issues. Sometimes it sounds like it is going to start but does not turn over completely. If I sit and keep turning the key eventually it cranks. Note that it's not all the time and seems to happen more frequently when the nose is pointed down (like a steep drive way).
I haven't taken it to the dealer yet because I'd like to fix it myself but so far the suggestions from people have been:
Replacing battery wires
Replacing fuel filter (last one was about 116K for the one in the gas tank)
The cold in general
A bad "spot" in the motor
