I want to store my spare on the roof, but am unsure as to how everyone strapped theirs down. Anyone have a closeup pic as of how to?

I had mine with a rather strap. Prepare to lose some mpgs with it up there. It looks sweet, but it's not aerodynamic, and it raises your COG, So you might feel a bit more tippy.

I had mine up there for a long while. Like Roadie said, your gas milage will drop. I used a lock & chain w/ 2 perferated steel bars that were bolted to the rails using grade8 bolts.. Not pretty but functional. If you use any type of metal, I suggest using something to dampen the vibrations, cause there WILL be some.
