Shoe Creek Trail - Closed

Just a heads up to anyone looking to try out Shoe Creek someday - Do Not Do It.

The trail has been gated and closed. There have been issues with land owners for several years now up there and looks like either they closed it or - something else is going on.

There are reports that the trail has been graded out recently and nice shiny gates put up.

The part of the trail that is gated is on private property. The whole trail is public land, but a few miles actually go across someones private property. The Forest department does not have authority on it - so the land owners can block this portion (which happens to be right in the middle) and the authorities cannot do anything.


The discussion so far is that the trail was graded to please the landowners. I guess they wanted to have the whole thing blocked? All this is coming from different sources so as I find out more I will update.
