I just replaced a bad front wheel speed sensor. I'm not at home to get on a computer and do a through search.

Anyone know the procedure to reset the lamp?

Line was squashed between the UCA and bump stop perch when I lost the bump stop.

If you try to splice a new sensor into the existing wiring, the solder can be enough to throw the code. the current that it is reading is really really small.

I smashed a rear with a u-bolt, and snagged a front on the lugs on some really wide swampers, so i know how easy it is to do.

Just broke a wire next to the connector on the front, due to 50 tons of mud pulling it down.

I soldered and heat shrunk back together. Wouldn't reset so tried what I thought was the procedure.
Park on street, wheels straight. Shut off. Restart. Drive absolutely straight. Should go right off, which it did.
Sure sucked that 4x4 quit working when the sensor broke.
Damn good thing I have my rear locker wired to a rocker switch or I'd been screwed and probably would have needed towed out of some spots.

Didnt realize 2nd gens lost 4wd if the sensor went out. Seems like a pretty ridiculous design. I guess it must be integral to the whole fake limited slip system they have.

ya second gens loos 4Wd, ABS, VDC when one sensor goes out. found out the hard way but there is a bypas prosedure you can do to put the truck back into 4hi, once that is done you can jump between hi and lo as usual, just don't drop it back into 2wd or you will need to do the procedure again. I can post the procedure once I get home from work. I just can't remember what exact fuse you need to pull,

Edit: found the info in a post i made in the other forum

shut engin off,
pull the ABS/ECU fuse, and shift the 4wd selector button into 4Hi
Start engin
then put the fuse back in the Tcase will switch
