Reset check engine light

On my FJ the check engine light would come on after 3000 miles to remind you the oil needed to be changed. After the oil change I would push & hold the trip miles reset while starting the truck, this would knock the light off. My Xterra is slightly overdue for an oil change (hitting that 1st thing tomorrow), is there a similar deal with the Xterra to rest the light in the dash?

I don't know what year you have but on the 05-08's I know that isn't a thing. I'd recommend buying a cheap OBDII reader and an app like Torque Pro so you can pull the codes whenever you get the SES light on. It's easier than running down the the auto parts store to have them do it IMO.

I have a 2011 and have never seen a service reminder light.
