Rear view monitor hook up

Hello, Fellow x ers,
Just started my journey with my X and this forum. Looking forward to learning and chatting!
Anyway, i have hooked up a rear view camera and monitor in my x, but i must have the monitor positive wire hooked to the wrong wire. It's supposed to be hooked to the reverse light positive.
It comes on when i place the trans in reverse, but goes off everytime i touch the brake.
Can someone tell me where the positive reverse wire is on this model.

Does the monitor shut off or does the camera shut off? Is it a dedicated monitor for reverse or is it part of your head unit? It seems to me that your hot is in the right location because it comes on when you hit reverse, but the ground may be shorting when you hit the brake.

Find out if your reverse lights also get killed by the brake. Just a hunch.

Best place to pull from would be the TCM under the dash.

Note: Pic is from a Gen 1.0, but I doubt they moved the computers too far in the 1.5
There's a yellow wire with a red stripe on it, that's your signal. It'll have 12V on it when in reverse, and not when, well, not.
Your other options from which to tap are a wire at the SMJ behind the passenger kick panel (too many wires there for me) or the transmission position sensor in the engine bay (too hard to go through the firewall). If you can post up a link to the install instructions and a description/pics of where you tapped, then we can try to figure out better what went wrong.

Used the wire under the passenger kick panel. I had the hot wire for the monitor hooked up to wrong wire. works great now. Appreciate the help.
