rear storage rack/box thing

I am in the process of planning a rear storage rack system, which will include (hopefully) a mount for the power tank, a tool drawer, space underneath for a cooler or recovery gear, and some other miscellaneous goodies. it will be on legs mounted in the utilitrack channels. similar in general concept to what KUMA did, but tailored for my specific uses (like having mounts for fly rods).

Thoughts? Suggestions? Anything I need to think about I haven't?

Kuma's design was (is) pretty good. Without seeing it in person it's hard to point out any shortcomings. I like the drawer feature, that turned out well I thought.

Make it easy to remove, I had a system with lids and pull out bins, but ended up being such a pain when I needed to do something else that I just took it out completely. Weight also started to become an issue, I was dragging around a few hundred pounds everywhere i went.

^^^I definitely want to be able to take it out and put it back in. the drawer may be sacrificed in the name of weight. planning continues

Ill be interested to see what you do Sean... my new rack design I am working on is minimal steel and will have an aluminum box (just the steel box by itself weights a lot without tools) not to mention no sliders on this one (again weight savings).
