Hey guys, I have a random misfire on my 01 v6 5 sp with 136k mi. I already did plugs/wires/cap/rotor. There wasn't any play in the distributor shaft. Is there anything you can think of? I've only had the truck for a couple months and don't have much history on it.

So, you had the code, and, changing plugs wires and cap/rotor didn't fix it?

What was the code number?

Low fuel pressure, a leaky or plugged injector, or a vacuum leak? (Too much or too little fuel can do it)

Things like tight valves, broken valve springs, worn valves, compression rings etc, can lead to this problem.

Using poor quality replacement parts for the wires, cap, etc, or the wrong gapped plugs, etc can screw you up as well, and so forth.

Yeah, I had the code and replacing those parts didn't fix it. It's a P0300. I used good parts and gapped the plugs correctly.

How did you replace these?
