For my build (here) I've decided to keep the stock torsion bars and leaf springs. I have a winch mounted up front so I'm hoping to compensate by running a stiffer shock. I put in my order for the $500 UCA, shackles and idler arm brace package from 4x4parts.com so I'll be running a 3" suspension lift.
My biggest complaint with the stock ride and street shocks was the front end had a pogo stick feel to it going over bumps. I'd like a firm shock to eliminate the bouncy front end.
Everyone says to get Bilsteins but I like the idea of the adjustable Ranchos. Has anyone run both on first gen? Which shocks would be higher on the firmness scale?
