My buddy Tim, who runs with the Nexterra crowd with me owns a purple 99 Heep TJ.
Heep O rust is what it should be called, but I if not for my buddy an his jeep, I wouldnt know they SHT I now do!
We've re geared both axles,
Bedlined the interior
numerous repairs. Engine lift, body and gas tank lift, suspension, all to keep er as low as possible but still to allow for clearance.
Well today was the day we repaired this!
Let's do this!
Tim begins cutting out the bottom of the frame.
One side cut
Cap is on!
These are Boss. A U-Channel cap made perfectly to fit over the frame and weld in place.
Me cleaning up the total of 10lbs of rust dust that came out of the frame.
Tacking in one side.
Me welding the back side of the cap, THERE IS NO ROOM IN THERE!
Who da thunk, guess I can weld!
Got late so we're pushing back to tomorrow. Should be all done and 110% back on the road.
Next on the list, replacing EVEN MORE of the frame!
Have two more weld in caps sitting in wait.
