Drilled and slotted rotors make a little bit of sense on the road. If you are off road, you're going to get mud and and crap in the grooves and holes. And that is a bad thing.

I have them, pads didn't last long but rotors are almost 4 years old and still in great shape, I paired them with ebc green stuff pads and it greatly improved braking

That's surprising. Every time I've seen drilled/slotted rotors off road they always get messed up.

Personally, I prefer simply slotted rotors. The cross drilling helps to dissipate heat, but. Also makes the rotors weaker. I've seem many a cracked cross drilled rotor.

I've got the same setup as xterror and so far I'm very happy with them

Not worried about the off roading issues, i.e. mud as I live in SoCal and the little O/R driving I do is on dirt trails that are dry. Prime, were the cracked rotors you saw due to serious off road activity, with vehicles that had larger than stock tires?

Yeah. It tends to happen w/ overheated brakes. Long hill descents and people who use the brakes instead of the engine to control speed.
