Quick question to those who put in HID's in their OR Lights. Assuming you still have the stock radio and a Sirius account. Does your radio cut out more with the HID's up there. More so the hardware for them. All the added wires and ballasts. Was curious as to how you have everything tied up under there. A photo would be great. I have an idea of what I want to do but before I spend some money I figured I would ask.

Thanks.....

Good deal. Just read it. And I remember reading this in the past. Funny thing is though. Its such a pain to work in this area. Must have used a ladder. Which I think I am going to need. I'm tall but not that tall. LoL

That's why I haven't swapped out mine up top....lol. Its fine since I don't use it that much and I have total of 6 LED bars all around my rig so that's plenty of light

Mounting the ballasts like in the mod on thenewx.org would probably work very well. Not sure why I didn't think of doing it that way. I put 8000k's up there and man let me tell you its impressive. I don't have any other mods done to my lights so I have to run them with Hi-Beams. I would however like to change that. Currently reading on some mods. Just not sure which one is the best.

Thanks for the link, it was something I have been wanting to do but keep forgetting. Just ordered them last night and they will be here before the event. i just have one question and I think I know the answer to it already. Obviously going to install the ballasts and ground them. And I am sure the kit comes with the right plastic plug to cup the harness that's up there. The link provides good insight but leaves the connection "plug and play" So my only question before getting kit and figuring it out then, is: do the ballasts or lights require a 12v lead from the battery. If so, I will pre-run that wire now and be ready for the "plug and play" when lights get here.

BTW, price of those lights have dropped to $35, but shipping and handling costs $15.

Most people recommend a relay harness from the battery but I didn't do that. I just plugged the hid ballast into the stock bulb connector and the his bulb plugged into the ballast. I run 55w hid up there and haven't had any issues with the bulbs not lighting. Best cheap light mod

Arrived in about 3 days from China, take an extra day because shipping company always wants to show up when you should be known not to be home and require a signature to leave package. Installed in less than 30 minutes as indicated with other post. A little hectic with multiple wires going on up there and limited reach, but a very cool plug and play. Everything just snapped right in. Unlike other HID lights that require separate grounding and a 12V Lead. These were actually fun to install. Sorry no pictures. but they look just like the ones taken in the forum.

Oh and I went with 5000k for the color. I have led's all over the truck and HID HI/LOW lights all with 5000k. I personally don't care for that blue-ish beam or even the diamond white which is 6000k I believe. With 5000k there doesn't seem to be any blue tint in there and its 1 step up from the highest halogen bulb you can buy at 4300. So from my perspective its as white as I can get them. No offense to anyone else with higher temp colors, just throwing my 2 cents out there.
