Off road bumpers

Last night while looking around on craigslist I found a guy in Chula Vista that does fab work. He does pretty much everything you can think of. I asked him if he would be interested in mass production for bumpers, he said he would.

So my question is how man of you would be interested? I've sent him a few pictures of bumpers I would like, basic rear with a swing out/hitch receiver/ as well as some brackets for "D" rings. The front is basically a Heftyfab bumper without the loops just a center bar for lights and a winch but designed for 1st Gen.

I am fully aware these are pictures of a 2nd Gen but I'm sure he can make changes to fit a 1st Gen.

People would actually wanna see it before they commit to wanting to order one (may just be me). I would tell him the style you want and then once he's done, then ask about interests. And I wouldn't try and get a direct copy of Hefty's, make it a little different and your own design. So many people out there could make a direct copy of someone else's work.

James (rlc) charges 550 or 600 for a bumper and from what I know is cheap with shipping too..

But hey more fab guys the better ;)
For a long time it was either shtick works or arb

Not saying don't use RLC...James is great and willing to talk but since you're worried about shipping cost you might want to talk to MAXTERRA in the Arizona/Utah/SW area. He does great work and is willing to talk.

I'm concerned more about the freight then anything. Shipping is not cheap cross country or even across state lines these days.

Jason (fab guy) is wanting to know if the Frontier and the Xterra share mounting and body lines.

I'll even check to see if we can get group buys for sliders and/or skids too.

While frontiers and Xterra share frames and mount points, the body lines are different so a little design modification is necessary to make one bumper fit both.

Also the mounts are very important for strength, they need to mount to the front and wrap around the bottom of the frame horns for max strength, ray had to go back to his fabricator to have the mounts beefed up after lots of people gave input about the weak design of them.

Not sent with the stupid auto guide app
