Back in July, we discovered an amazing camping site with incredible views, and we're going to attempt to camp there Saturday night, October 2nd. I say "attempt" because it's first come-first serve, and we need to get there early to secure it. All are welcome, as long as you're willing to keep things kid-friendly.
Exact meeting time will be posted closer to the date, but people can trickle in whenever they can**. Long Run Rd itself isn't what I'd consider a trail where you shouldn't be alone. If we get enough people, maybe we can do runs at Second Mountain and/or Dictum Ridge in shifts to keep the camping spot. Otherwise, we may lose it and/or lose gear we leave there.
**If we get the spot, all good. If somebody beats us there, we'll probably run Second Mountain and then head to Switzer Lake/Dunklehollow Rd/Flagpole Knob to camp there. This is the only scenario where you may want to be with us at the set time. The good news is we know at the camp site we have cell service, so if we get there and it's taken, I can text everybody I know is coming.
