The North East Xterra Club (NEXTerra) is holding its “April Fools "Night" Runâ€￾ on Saturday, April 6th in Taunton and Freetown Massachusetts. The trails are very stock friendly, all makes of 4x4 vehicles are welcome.

OK, kind of last minute but one of our members (Mike, “Mixxali4”) has received permission for a few of us to wheel the proving grounds of Draken Offroad in Garrattsville, NY ( near Oneonta) on April 6th. I was going to try and make the run in Freetown but, well, this seems more to my liking.
This part of the NEXterra April Fools Run is a unique opportunity to run your truck on some very challenging trails located on private land in beautiful upstate New York. The trails are not that rocky but slick with a lot of tree roots that are hard to grip. Rain and/or snow makes it much worse. Good tires are the priority. If you’ve never wheeled this might not be the best trails to start with. However if you feel up to the challenge you would be welcomed to join the group.
We plan the meet at the Draken Offroad shop, 9am, Saturday morning (no we are not running these trails at night, sorry) April 6th.
This is private land so you have to give us a heads up and sign two waivers (NEXterra & Draken) if you want to join us.

Great day at the New York part of this run! Thanks to Mike (mixxali4) from putting this together with Robby and your crew from Brooklyn.
Robby’s property is always a challenge but the half frozen, half melted mud made for some unique wheeling. Most of the day was a slipping, sliding winch fest, a bunch of smacking into stuff. I was too busy wheeling to take any pictures but have a few;

Sunday morning at Scott’s I discovered that my truck was leaking gas. I pulled the skid plate to reveal my rusted-to-crap gas tank was leaking. Every time I tried to patch a pin hole another would appear. The whole bottom of the tank is shot…rusted through and un-fixable. I had to leave the truck at Scott’s, ordered a new tank and will go up next weekend to go get it. Thanks Scott for letting me stay at your place and storing my junk heap at on your property. See you next weekend. Thanks Mike (mixxali4) for driving me home to Brooklyn.
