Hello all-
My name is Andrew, I live in Grand Rapids Michigan and I used to own a 2004 Xterra. One of the things that I had to repair while I owned my X was the lower tie bar, AKA the lower radiator support, due to excessive rust. The radiator was basically falling out of the car. being an engineer that works with sheet metal I decided to design and produce a stainless replacement piece that bolts in place.
I recently decided to start reproducing this piece and making it available to the community. Many first gens, especially those in the northern states, are suffering from this issue whether or not people know it.
Several people have already installed this with great results. There is a thread where others have detailed their installation: https://www.clubxterra.org/threads/lower-radiator-support-replacement.147905/
If anyone is interested, you can purchase these at https://www.zprecision.com/product/nissan-xterra-lower-tie-bar. I have attached the installation instructions as well as a couple photos.
Thanks for looking!
