Hey everyone! I'm new to forums but have recently learned that they can be very helpful! I'm trying to figure out best way to improve fuel mileage. I've done a tuneup with wires and sparks plugs, new air filter, and synthetic fluids to no avail. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the nation. You're on the right path. Maintenance will always be the best thing to maintain fuel economy. If you're looking to gain it look into intakes and exhaust.

Sadly the 3.3 isn't a MPG getter. The V6 was slightly under powered for the Xterra.
I could avg 16s before the heavy mods kicked in.

Welcome to XN!

Gas mileage is an illusive mystery for us. Heh. Best things you can do are improve how well air enters and leaves the engine. The factory Intake system is kinda silly and can be very much simplified by removing resonators and plugging the holes they were in. The exhaust is also super restrictive. Headers and custom catback can work wonders. I'm on 33s with lots of extra weight and can still get 15 highway.
