Hey guys, I've been on thenewx for a little while but just found out about this site. I live in Johnson City, TN and I'll be living here for 1 more year while I finish up medical school. I got in the Xterra world in May of this year and I've loved every minute of it so far.

I have a 2012 Pro-4x with the 6-speed manual in Night Armor. Being a med student, I'm having to put off major mods until later, but did put on some 265/75r16 Goodyear DuraTracs and they have been great. I've been extremely pleased, and often surprised, with how capable this truck is off road. I hope to get a 2" SL here soon, but until then I'll be putting in a CB radio over the next couple of days.

I'm hoping to get involved with a group of Xterra guys in this area. I'm tired of my Jeep buddy thinking he's better than me ;)
But seriously, I'm relatively new to off-roading and have fallen in love with it and would love to have a group I can learn from.

I know all you care about is the pics, so here they are:

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

P.S. I'm gonna be mounting a CB antenna soon but not sure where the best location is. Most of the trails I do are heavily wooded so putting it on the roof seems like a no-go. Any of you east-coaster mountain guys have any suggestions?

Welcome! We have a good group that is right in your area for wheeling! Great group of people in the area, and willing to support you when it comes to mods, etc. Let me know if you need any help or have any questions.

Hi and welcome. Glad to have you in the nation. Some people mount their antennas above the rear tail lights. This location is not immune from the limbs and bushes but is a viable alternative to the roof. Googling "xterra antenna" and looking at the images it returns will give you angood sampling of the different approaches people have taken. Hope to see you on the trail!
