Hey everyone! Looking to get my first XTerra. There's one Id like to go look at, it's 3 hours away. Little iffy about it though cause it'd an 09 Offroad package with 104k miles listed for $12.5k. It's cheaper than others I see for that year so I'm worried about SMOD or maybe something else being wrong with it..

I've got a black 1.5 gen XTerra for sale here in Clarksville, TN near KY border. Not sure if thats too far for you but I've personally test driven it. The dealer is asking $10k for it.

It has around 110k miles and needs a brake fluid flush and replacement of the serpentine belt. Its a 2004.

I'm not positive but SMOD isn't an issue with the 09 year... somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
Pretty sure with the 09 it's the Pro4X with the mickey mouse lights on top, correct? If so, it has the rear diff locker which is a really nice option.

10k is way too much for a 1 or 1.5 gen. that dealer is nuts.
I would sell both of my personal xterras for cheaper than that. as a package deal.

I was told some 09's do have the problem and it's best to fix the issue even if it hasn't happen yet, just to prevent it.

Well I'm all wrong then! I'll just shut up and go back to my first gens haha
They've had OR models since the Gen 2 came out in 2005, but they didn't get the roof lights until 2009. In 2011 it got relabeled the P4X

Welcome from VA! If you're going 2nd gen, get an off-road / Pro4X for sure. So you're off to a good start in your search.
