The reason for this is that the circuit that is controlling the speed of the blinker is load based. LEDs have a much lower load than traditional incandescent bulbs. The result of that change is the fast blinking. What you need is an LED compliant flasher module. Which I will find a URL for......

The BCM controls the rate of flash on the second gen X. It flashes fast since the BCM thinks that a bulb is burned out. Buy and install the load resistor and it will solve your problem. If you get the LED's for the rear, you will have to get a separate one for them as well.

Oh snap! Silly new vehicles and they're bus craziness. That's what I get for sticking my nose in the 2nd gen section where it clearly doesn't belong.
