Is This What a Tie Rod End is Supposed to Look Like?

Replaced the driver side outer TRE due to dust boot torn to shreds! Is this what a "good" one is supposed to look like under the boot? Photo is one I removed.

Further information...the ball turns/spins/back & forth with ease. Slight resistance but it prob. has 121K on it.

It doesn't look terrible But a torn boot means that eventually road grime and dirt would get in there and tear it to shreds.
