How much should I pay to fix leaking crankshaft seal?

My 2004 has a class 2 leak. The mechanic says its the rear crank shaft seal. I bought the seal for it. He says it is normally a $650 job but would charge me $450. Is that a realistic or fair price? I realize the transmission has to be dropped down a bit.

I'd probably jump on that. Dropping the tranny is not as easy as it sounds.

Yes I guess I'll bite the bullet. I see the oil pan is leaking too and that's not an easy task. Going to have him do both for $600

Good luck. I had to replace the oil supply line on my Mini to the tune of $1150 last week. $600 would have been better
