A,
Okay guys, hi first of all I finally got my car of my dreams, 2000 Xterra.
I'm so infatuated with my car, BUT I'm not that good of a mechanic, but I do love to learn.
I have an understanding of how it works, but the actual job is the part that scares me.
Well here is my question, How many inches do I have to lift it to be able to put like 33" tires on it, will I have to cut the fenders and what not?
Also I'm stationed in Alaska, so there is a lot of off-road I could be able to do, hehe.

There she is. I haven't given her a name yet, what do you call your xterra? :)

Suspension Lift
Eyyyyyyyyyy welcome to the nation my man!

To fit 33's you just need a 2" body lift and a PML (poor mans lift) which involves cranking the torsion bars up a bit and putting some longer rear shackles on. You may have a little plastic cutting to do but most likely no metal.

First things first though if you are goin wheeling at all you gots to ditch those steps and flaps :bmmd:

Tires are the #1 mod ;). Grip is king!
You can fit a 32" tire with just a little plastic trimming or like mentioned above 33s + 2" BL
+ 1.5" SL = fun

Welcome into the nation

Welcome to XN!

As stated, lose the steps & mud flaps. The lift required for 33s costs less than $300. Shackles: $60. Torsion bar crank: FREE. 2" body lift: the kit costs about $200 but you can buy all the pieces you need for about $100 if you piece meal it. Cutting is also free. And it only has to be a little bit.

Welcome, You can fit 33's with a suspension lift without doing a body lift. But be warned there will be some metal trimming, and by some i mean a bunch.

A,
Just to update you guys, I have ordered some parts to start modding my baby, but the temperature is getting in the freezing negatives and it's gonna be hard to keep my vehicle in shape, any of you guys lived/live in extreme cold weather? any tips on how to maintain a vehicle during winter months? any information is appreciated. :) THANKS!
