Hey friends
Long wanted an xterra, finally got one, for free
I'm a tow truck operator, towed the same x twice for different reasons, 1st time, middle of the night, flat no spare. 2nd time, starter was fried, initially I was going to buy for next to nothing but then the previous owner was kind enough just to let me have it, title and all
Being an 02, unsurprisingly, she needs some love, interior is filthy, tires are gone, its been rear ended several times, but I've built shiat boxes before :)
I hope to have it ready for my colorado overland trip late next summer!

I was unable to find motivation to want to do a timing belt :(
I did this many years ago on my isuzu's, it was a bitch!
I understand , something's I can do myself-other thing's I could do if I had the space and the tool's and another vehicle in case it took an extra day . Now at 60 it's easier to pay someone for the hard/time consuming/pain in the a$$ stuff.

I actually did check for prices to do it, shops want $1500, an evening in the shop isn't worth $1500 to me

Welcome from Denver!

The timing belt is crucial. It sucks. But it needs doing. Can be done at home. Make sur to do the cam seals and water pump at the same time.
