My truck has been infested with squirrels since the day I bought it.

Whenever you turn on the HVAC system, they start squeaking. If I'm running the heat, they tend to be warm and happy and quiet down. When the AC is on they're mad and loud.

Finally got fed up.

And then all the trim in the corner.

Disconnect the wiring harness & remove the 3 5.5mm (or as I found out 7/32") bolts . (dash yoga required)

No more squirrels.

Assembly is the reverse of removal.

I too have those same squirrels. I've done this process once before, and didn't care for it, so, have been putting it off.... for years.

Nice how to. Glad to see OEM. I cheaped out on my first replacement in 2015 and put in a TYC aftermarket fan. It lasted me about two years, and was always a little weaker and a little louder than the original.

Replaced that one with an OEM part in 2017, still going strong seven years later.
