FWIW the Chevron Techron is a lower concentration of the same chemical GM uses in their injector cleaning service at the dealerships. I run a bottle through my vehicles about every three months.

Have I pulled the injectors before and after to verify results? No.

Have I really noticed any difference? No.

Does it make me feel better? Yes.

YMMV

I use them once every few years. Ones with PEA. Do I notice a difference? No.

Folks seem to like Chevron Techron and Gum-out which also has PEA.

Frankly, if mostly driven highway and always filled with top tier, detergent-rich gasoline, there should not requirement for add-to-the-tank, fuel injector cleaners.

If it's sat for a while, Seafoam is a good one to use. I know it cleaned up that quad carburetor really nicely after it had sat with ethanol gas in it for unknown period of time.

I did run some seafoam for a couple tanks when I first got it, it had almost no gas in it so there wasnt alot of gas with an unknown age....the P.O. drove it very rarely, so didn't really sit...if that makes sense

There’s a lot of “evidence” on both sides of the argument, and at the end of the day, most people are going to go with the “results” that fit their bias. Most folks don’t have the time or resources to conduct purely scientific tests, and most results are subjective at best. So if it makes you feel better, drop it in. I’ve used fuel injector cleaners off and on with my cars for years. My go-to has always been Sea Foam. But I’m not as convinced these days.

What I won’t do is run that engine oil additive shiat in my engines, especially my higher mileage engines. Your engine builds up “carbon dams” in places around seals and valve guides. One good way to ruin a high mileage engine is to run high detergent oils and cleaners through it. Regular maintenance with quality lubricants from the beginning is best.

But these are just my opinions. They are worth what you paid for them.

I've never been big on adding anything....do routine maintenance Always seemed like enough. Getting used cars I would run seafoam as a friend advised to "clean up the yuck". Also I've never messed with fuel injection...I'm used to carbs...so I'm gonna be learning abit.

I believe in Seafoam. Especially if its been sitting. I throw it in the tanks of most of what I drive every year. Get it at Walmart if you can. Its $7 vs like $12 at auto parts stores.

I used to have a 4.2 V8 Audi engine that occasionally threw cylinder misfire codes. After I used Techron, those codes would go away for a few thousand miles and then reappear. So I think it has some effect, but I don't use it unless I have reason to.

I use Seafoam with non-ethanol gas in my Harley, it sits for months when it's too hot to ride, no fuel issues. I've stored gas with Seafoam for over a year and it still runs good in the mower. But as I recall, the MR-2 guys said Seafoam would gum up their plugs, so maybe that's a turbo thing?

Several guys recommended Techron cleaner for my MR-2 turbo and it did seem to help a bit, although it was an old '92 so I didn't punch it much. The stock ignition on these were sensitive, you had to use NGK plugs and gap them at .028, a bigger gap cuts out during boost. I changed plugs alot and didn't see any abnormal residue using Techron occasionally.

The Seafoam can suggests using it to flush the oil system. Tried it on an old car with really gunky oil, after flush then new oil the main bearings started knocking.
