Dat Lean...

Been looking into new shackles to raise my rear end a little bit, so I measured my rake on both sides to see what I was looking at. What did I find? Well, as I now can see in this picture, my truck is lower on the right side than the left...about an inch in the front, slightly more in the back....

I re-cranked my torsion bars not too long ago, and I'll check em again, but any ideas about what else I should be looking for? i mean, it's not the spare and swing away being off-center...is it? Now that I think of it, the truck has looked like it's leaning over a little bit for quite some time. Before I spend hours trying to figure out what should probably be obvious, I'll throw it out to the group...

Group?

Could be a few things.

Your gas tank is on the right side & the truck is supposed to sit level at half tank.

Your leaf spring might be a little weaker on that side from the use plus the weight of fuel & tire.

Also you could have been on uneven ground. Just because its concrete doesnt mean its perfectly flat.

You also might have a tire at a slight lower pressure.

The most likely answer is a little bit of all of the above.

Some of these things I thought of. Currently, at less than half a tank of gas. tires are evenly worn, evenly inflated. ground is relatively level, and this is something i noticed in other locations...

It seems like it's been like this for a couple months, ever since I got an alignment after putting in the total chaos steering and re-installing my UCAS...

I went and looked on the other site, and found a thread where a few other first gens had the same complaint - 1" lateral rake, higher on driver's side.

went outside, here's what i found: almost the full inch difference in space between bumpstop and axle in the back (about 3.5" right side, almost 4.5" driver's side). In the front, it looks like there is a slightly bigger gap between UCA and bumpstop on passenger's side than driver's side.

confused...

Is this just something goes with the territory in lifting our trucks?

Look over your leaf springs with a flashlight to insure they are not cracked.

Then I'd bounce the right side to check to make sure suspension movement is fluid. In other words bumps up and down smoothly without sticking. Could have a froze shock preventing the suspension from moving.

If I found nothing, I'd crank the torsion bar up.
