So I FINALLY get my CD player installed and working properly, coming home down the interstate and I turn on the cruise. The on/off button works, but the SET CRUISE wouldn't set. It's worked previously until now.

Karen mentioned maybe a vacuum leak...any other ideas?

Does the 'set' lamp turn on? If no, then check the stop switch (mounted at brake pedal), vehicle speed sensor, steering column switch and the clutch switch if manual.

Does the set light flash? That's a common problem with cruise on Nissan. Normally it is the stop switch or cruise switch on the steering wheel.

Nismo, the most common problem for cruise control not setting like your talking about is the rubber button on the brake pedal that works with the cruise control kick down switch, It breaks in peices and finally falls to the floor board. There are two of these buttons there, one is for the brake light switch and the other is for the kick down switch and if it is missing then your vehicle thinks you are stepping on the brake thus deactivating the cruise set position.

It worked this morning. I'm pretty sure my clutch was hung up a little. I noticed yesterday it kinda sticks a little.
