So I like most 1st gen people who have bigger tires have chopped up the lower front bumper. Does anyone else have a crazy rattle since?

I have zip-tied and tightened everything. Both sides of the bumper where the light is located on the sides of the truck just rattles and rattles and freaking rattles. Is there anything you can do to stop it?

The part that rattles is from the rectangle orange light on the bumper to the wheel well. Please help! The Great Rattle Mystery is driving me freaking insane!!!

Dried mud/Rocks inside the fender wells :D

Its probably the wind when your driving down the road, the wind/air resistance going through the gaps on your bumper is what makes it rattle alot and seeing how its a flimsy plastic, there's really not much you can do except take it off. Does anything in the plastic seem loose to the touch?

My only idea is find a bracket long enough to tie one end of that bumper where the sidemarker light is and up to the very first screw on your fender plastic....does this make sense? Take the first screw off on the fender where its holding the plastic wheel well then attach a long metal bracket and make a small hole to screw that end of that bracket to the bumper where the sidemarker is....

AND Lastly, why is your window covering your face!?!?!?!? lol

Yeah, give the brackets a try...you can pick up some for real cheap. Get some semi-flexible metal brackets so once you have one end on the fender screw you can kind of angle it down to screw the other end to the bumper. I did something kinda similar to that for my custom LED sidemarkers on my 1st gen. I may have pics of that but if you need them, I'll look them up if I have it. Worked out pretty good so I don't see why it shouldn't be a problem for you with your issue.

You sound like my BF TN4x4. He keeps telling me all these things and ideas that i need. I look at him and always say the same thing... Unless you're buying with the lotto you hit, these items will take time to do. But i really like the idea of the pontoon! It means that I could stop wearing these darn swimmies, goggles and nose clip while wheeling.

Haha! So many things I can tell you that you need...but I'll just let your bf handle that!

SO that's why you had your window rolled up halfway in that pic above because you had your goggles, nose clip, rubber ducky, and those inflatable arm wadders....that makes total sense why you didn't want us to see it! ;)

:D Any idea on what armored bumper you'd like to go for?

lol DARN IT! You're on to me. But the real reason is bc my tires kick up so much mud that it covers my interior and seeing i work in the mortgage business I don't want to have to be getting my work clothes all dirty from the dirt on my seats.

As far as the bumpers I tied between the SW with a winch or the ARB. with a winch of course.

Oh I totally understand your reason for having them rolled up, I hate mud in the interior...its a pain to clean and I work in a office so same reason as yours. My 1st gen had good mud tires and man, they kicked up a good decent sized mud.

I had a SW bumper on my 1st gen before and I really loved it, amazing quality work and only took me 2 months to get the bumper (yes, surprisedly). I had SW alter the design a little bit so it was different from all those SW bumpers you see out there now but it really came out great! Had a Warn XD9000 and it worked great.

I really wish I had kept the old X though....

I like the fact that SW will modify their items to how you like. I personally would like the center bar to be even with the lower outer bars if i go with SW. I like the look of them all being the same height.

Finally found a pic of my old Xterra! Had to dig through my emails for it.

I understand about center being even with the lower ones....I'd like that too. This is what I had them to do....center hoop was extended out. Prerunner style.
