This is my first post. So hello everyone. This is my seconded xterra though. I just got a 2015 X in night armor grey. Its a 2wd so thinking of going the pre- runner route. Here is my parts list so for. Let me know what you think.

Front suspension:
PRG 4â€￾ Spindles
PRG UCA
SAW 2.0 Coilovers
Dirt King LCA

Rear Suspension:
Alcan 4â€￾ leafs
PRG Shackles
Radflo emulsions

Over all i should achieve 6-6.5" of lift

Not sure on wheels or tire combo yet prob 33's or 35's...Also going to get calmini pre-runner bumper and some light bars as well. There will also be performance mods but thats for the build thread when it gets started. Figuring one thing out at a time here. :)

If you're going to do this to a 2wd, I would say - dump the prg spindles and UCAs and just go with the full dirtking long travel race kit. It costs more but everything is fully boxed and you're getting more travel overall. You'll also have the wider track stance and you can run the Titan hubs/rotors and a big brake kit over the crappy Xterra stock brakes.

When going a prerunner route you don't necessarily want a lot of lift. You want to maintain as low as possible COG and still have plenty of wheel travel. I like the idea of doing a prerunner SUV but it presents some unique challenges because you cant get massive rear wheel clearance by removing the bed floor and throwing fiberglass bedsides on. I would also look at the Titan stuff because it will be inherently stronger and as thecoalition mentioned you will have much better brakes

Lots of great point here. If I had to do this all over again. I would get a fronty to do it with. But I have a x and its 2wd so it's what I got to work with. I like the dirt King Kong travel kit it is sweet it's in the running now. The reason for so much lift is the rear. This vehicle has to be more than a pre runner has to get me on the unbeaten path and take the family camping as well. I just don't want to make a huge looking rock crawler and be 2wd. Then I'd be more of a mall crawler. So prerunner it is.

Yes/No - It depends on the laws in your area. Without adding in fenders and what not, you may be breaking silly road laws with the front stance. You will also need a different axle in the back as the increased track width in the front cant be matched in the back even with spacers afaik.

You need to put a ton of thought and money into a proper LT setup. Unlike the majority of lifts, it's not simply bolt on and call it a day. There's a ton of planning that should go into it.

If you are wanting to take it on an unbeaten path as well.. maybe look into locking the rear, which would require buying an air locker or doing a axle swap with some locked rear off of a pro-4x model.

Being 2wd, you might find you have some times where you would like to push further into the unbeaten path, or that you are stuck because one of your rear wheels lost traction..

The best advise is to not let anybody talk you out of doing something awesome with your truck. Do and learn as you go!
