anybody in or around chattanooga,Tn climb???

Just gettin into climbin, already had a few runs up the a sport climb around my house but gonna give urban rocks climbing gym a shot. Going to take the belaying class tonight (gotta take there class and get a card to belay in the gym)... Then next tuesday (10-09-2012)my girlfriend and several of my buddies will be at the gym to climb around 7 o'clock..

So if anybody else that climbs is down hit me up!!!

good luck bump, and the gym looks pretty nice! I too have recently gotten hooked on climbing and finally got lead certified. Having a cool looking place like that makes me want to get down to coal creek again then hit that on the way back!

cool, one of my bosses at work took me on a sport climb up some bluffs close to my house and I was hooked. Got my harness, beaners, but can't decide on a belay device yet. He taught on rescue figure 8 but the gym doesn't allow those so Im probably gonna just buy a figure 8 and an a.t.c one too. There not really that expensive. Im dreadin droppin that money on ropes though.

Been to urban rocks about 4x now and am hooked for sure.... Definately worth the 12 bucks to get in (if you got all the gear + studnet discount)

I would go with the atc, the figure eight tends to twist the rope up real bad. There is a climbing gym in Franklin, tn if you are ever up this way. There used to be sport routes at Foster Falls, near Monteagle, not sure if you are aware of those or not. Have fun climbing, it is an awesome workout.

So were in urban rocks now (every friday night ), killer gym, the staff is super friendly and the people are awesome... Cool place to be and has a good mix for every skill of climber


Now for the climbing center (knoxville) that gym is straight up awful, it looks good on their website, and it looks as big as urban from the pictures but once you get there, its a way different story. The gym is poorly maintained, poorly lit, and severely outdated. Its a tiny gym too like, its maybe half the size of urban if that.

bottom line is that Urban Rocks has it beat by a mile
