AC issue

I just picked up a bone stock 2000. When I switch on the AC it would work intermittently or not work at all.
So far I've...
- Replaced the resistor under the glove box.
- Charged it with R134.

Any ideas?

Check the compressor clutch. The front of the clutch will not spin when it's off, and will when it's engaged. Mine started to go and would only cool for a few minutes before it overheated and disengaged.

Mine spins when it's off.

All off? If its on defroster A/C will automatically be engaged even if the a/c button isn't on.

I meant it doesnt spin at all, but I can spin it freely with the engine off.
I can see it catch and spin every once in a while.

Clutch isn't engaging then. You can replace just the clutch, but I don't know where to get the kit.

Yeah prehaps there are specs in the factory service manual to check the resistance of the clutch engagement coil. Not real sure haven't been through this issue myself.
