AC Ball joint spacers

I usually don't double post things that I post on CX, but I'm looking for as much feedback as possible on these...

So i just picked up some AC UCAs from a member on here, and also got some Ball Joint Spacers with them. I've read up on the BJ spacers and it seems most people recommend against them due to increased issues and stress on the CVs when off road. That being said, as of now i get out off road about once a year in the summer, so with it still being my DD and not getting much off road use, will i have any trouble with the BJ spacers? However, in the future id like to get off the pavement a bit more, just don't really have much time currently.

On a side note, id like to be able to use these if they truly do provide .5" of lift as I'm looking to go SOA in the rear and want to limit the rake as much as possible.

Any info or opinions on these i would appreciate!

With UCA's alone the CV's are at the maximum angle. At full extension (like in my garage on jack stands) the CV's will actually not rotate freely as they bind so hard into the inner cups. I wouldn't recommend it personally as I feel the angles with the UCA's are already to much. Even for road use as its hard on all the steering and suspension components not just the CV's. To ride around with everything at the max angle all of the time the truck will ride very stiff and parts will wear more rapidly do to the increased stress on the parts.

With that said you can try it since you have it. its not hard to swap in and out other then the purchase of getting the truck aligned after swapping.

Some people like them.

if I did go with them and did the diff drop I could alleviate the cv angle correct? the diff drop has always seemed to be a lot of work for only 3/8" lower though. also i was planning on swapping to manual hubs as well which would stop the CVs from constantly turning I believe, seems that that may help with parts wearing prematurely as well.

my big question is how they effect the fit of the ball joint into the knuckle. i looked these things up on their website, first time ive seen spacers for ball joints.

they mount on top of the ball joint in between where they mount in the uca, so I would say the fit with the knuckle should be the same, not positive on that though as I have never seen them installed.

It would help a tiny bit but hardly. I've got a diff drop on mine and with UCA's my CV's will bind at full droop. Your CV's aren't spinning now. Automatic hubs automatically disconnect them.
