2''-3'' Lift advice

My X 2006(Off Road-32'' tires already) is used as a weekend car for off-road trips where ground clearance is usually the problem that stops me for going to certain hiking trailheads.

I know that running 33'' tires on the stock 16'' can be done without a lift and just with the melt mod, but this setup won't work in the winter when I need to add snow chains on all 4 tires. Off-road chains are about 5mm thick and don't clear the S clearance specifications of the manufacturer...

So the debate is SL or BL, 2'' or 3'' and which one would offer less modifications of the original setup PLUS allows me to run chains.

Thanks a lot for your help!

A body lift is for running larger tires. A suspension lift will change the preload on the suspension so you ride higher, but the same limitation at full stuff exists as if you were stock. So I'd go with a BL if you just need a couple of mm for the chains.

As for 2"or 3", I'll have to let a guy with knowledge of the 2nd Gen options speak.

Hi, my name is Brandon

I have the 2" PRG lift w/ shackles and PRG UCA in my basement waiting for this heat to move out of VA before i install everything. I plan on running 285/75R16s with some minor trimming/melt mod of the fenders. I've never ran chains but i would think i could run them no problem with this setup.
