Hi all.
I bought a 2000 Xterra last October, and have slowly been working on it ever since. I don't have a lot of time so my builds always move slow. But I figured I'd share.

Here she is the day she came home.

And the first thing I did:

Ran back to the distribution block, amps will be on the back seat.

Alarm still isn't finished cause I have to install lock actuators in the doors (YAY) and wire them. Getting wires in/out of these doors is terrible.

Been riding around with my interior torn apart and it's driving me crazy. But I'm about to get some time freed up and start working on this thing.

Not sure on box ideas yet. Was gonna do a 4th order bandpass tuned lowwwww with a DD2515, and did do it, but decided to go another route. Sub will be some sort of 18, I've been riding around with a temporary 18 the last month :evilgril:

Forgot about these.
Bought some clear headlights and corner lenses, got LED's for the corners, and just ordered projectors for a retrofit in the headlights.
Here's the corners:

Yeah I kept wondering why my cupholders sucked, then I saw someone else's Xterra and realized what was wrong lol.

Cut my tweeter mounts and ran the wire for them. Been tryng to do anything I can when I have some spare time. Ready to finish up the mids/highs. I'm tired of my stock crackling speakers lol.

That was a SUPER clean engine bay!

You've got some serious audio gear going on. I really want to dynomat all my doors. I did the doors and entire floor pan in my Mustang and it made a HUGE difference.

Yeah, unfortunately it didn't stay that clean.

I really need to finish deadening the rear doors, hatch, quarter panels, and should really do the floor but I'm not sure I'm up to pulling all the carpet.

Last year I painted all the plastics, roof rack, and steps. Then ended up ditching the steps after the paint started pealing off.

Got a new headunit, new processor, new plans for door speakers, and new subs all this year. I'll get some pics of them in the next couple days. Also in the process of trying to order wheels and tires.

Picked up some leather seats from a friend's wrecked Xterra this summer.

Gonna do these in the doors when I can afford a second one, and fiberglass some 5.25's into the kick panels.

And apparently the only thing you can carry in your truck is decibels. Cause damn.
Lol. It doesn't leave me much room. My action packer barely fits beside the boxes. I did it with 2 boxes so I could handle them easier and open up cargo room if I need it.
moar please. I don't think we have enough audio builds, so it is cool to see yours.
After this weekend I gotta do some deep cleaning and a little fixing. I'll take some pics and a video or 2.

I finally put some rap on my iPod, and the subs have some serious authority when they want to.

I may have messed up here.
I think it's body lift time. As much as I wanted to stay away from a BL, these 3.75" BS wheels are gonna make me. Anybody think I could get away with a 1" BL? Lol

I just don't want a lot of unneeded lift. Just wanna clear the tires with minimal trimming. I love the wide, stuffed look it has

The more I think about it, I know I'm gonna have to do the 2". If the rear suspension flexes too far right now the tires will probably hit the body, along with me not being able to turn sharp. Guess it's time to start ordering parts.

Stopped by a fast lube place to get a quick oil change today and they opened the hood and said "you've got a busted radiator". So I guess my upgrade to a SC radiator is coming sooner than I wanted.

Did the early 1st gen have different color needles on the HVAC controls? Because I'd love to ditch the red ones.

/unless they're yellow
//or orange
///because, nah

Can't decide what to do next, steering stabilizer or roof LED bar. I've got some money in PayPal burning a hole in my pocket.

iPhone picture looks terrible, but I put red LED's in my gauge cluster. The picture makes the needles look pink, IRL everything is pretty evenly red. Haven't decided if I like it or not, might go back to just white LEDs.

You don't need a steering stabilizer. Ever.

Also, is the hot spotting on your gauges even more noticeable than in the picture?

It's a lot more even looking in person. It's most noticeable on the odometer and it's not that bad.

Care to explain why no on the steering stabilizer? I've heard both yes and no. I'm looking tighten up the steering a little, I feel like I'm doing a lot of back and forth on the wheel on a windy day.

If all of your joints are good, the steering should be solid. I've never felt the need for one. My steering is always nice and firm, but responsive. No slop. Better off spending money on high quality components, adjusters, ends, idler arm brace, etc.
