xterra canoe

So my me and a friend are looking into buying a canoe this summer. We might get one of the 500 dollar ones at Bass Pro, or buy a used one. We want one to fish out of. I know that canoes are made out of different materials (ie. fiberglass, aluminum) and there are different lakes and what not...
