Welp, the car will be getting a muffler, just not a stock one.
The sound is great, especially the burps and burbles when downshifting. There's not much drone, which surprised me. There's a huge increase in pickup and throttle response, which is cool because the CVT really feels like I'm driving a rubberband-powered car...there's always been a delay in acceleration feel versus when I push the gas. Now it's immediate (and a lot stronger).
It's just too loud with no muffler. Poo.

Well, I had a workaround (if I was going to keep it unmuffled). My new plan is a stubby muffler...the company that makes it quantifies stock exhaust as a 0, no muffler as a 10, and their stubby muffler as a 3.
