Allllrrriiiggghhhhtttttttttt.
So this is my how to on plumbing a navara snorkel/ebay snorkel. This will not hold the actual snorkel install because that is pretty easy template, hole saw, bolts.....smile :bmmd:
My version will also involve removing the fender....It's 8 bolts. Two in the door jam, one under the wiper trim, one under the rocker pannel, 3 under the hood, annndddd one under the bumper.
Ok soooooo....
Things you will need....
-Silicone
- this thing....http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ac...r-ducting/_/N-25h5?itemIdentifier=422454_0_0_
-2" PVC plug
-3/4" wood bit
dis
-JB weld the quick set kind
- annnnddddd a good chunk of time.
once the fender is removed take the piece of the Navara kit that goes on to the base of the snork......
the one that looks like a frown right above the snork.....
and jb weld/silicone it to the base of the snorkel at an angle where the curve dips down into the bulge of the fender.....also pray you get the rubber one and not hard plastic, if you receive the hard plastic you might have to to break out the BFH in a bit....
put the rubber piece that came with the intake piping and silicone it to the previous piece...Just the connector though not the hose yet!!!!!
Now go ahead and remove the air box....there are four bolts holding the main intake hose piece to the air box then 4 latches on the side and 3 mounting screws.
also it was at this point i discovered my air filter was all torn up so what would be a better time to get a K&N?!?!
now remove the piece that the baffle was once connected too and JB weld / Silicoone it to the hosing piece
the piece that was here
putttttt here
next you want to take that 3/4 wood bit and the 2" PVC plug and cut a hole in the middle of the plug
and then go ahead and stick and secure it into the spot you removed the resonator from
now reinstall the base of the airbox and put the air temp you took out of the resonator and place it in the PVC plug
then reinsert the piece you removed from the air box and secure it in with guess what!
yeah silicone/ JB Weld!!!!
bend the tubing and connect it to the snorkel base piece on the fender........
place a hose clamp or silicone the crap out of it and reinstall the fender.....
if you have the hard plastic piece like i did you may have to go ahead and beat the piss out of the firewall to fit that piece........and by beat the piss out of it i mean beat it to hell :hihi:
now connect and reinstall everything.
step back and smile :kewl:
If i was too short in some areas i will elaborate upon request.
Also please pick this apart with different ways to do parts and things you would have done differently.....
