So over the years I've been an xterra lover and been on the forums I've seen so many people want fender flares but no help from the aftermarket world because of a lack of great desire. I got to thinking after seeing a few guys post up wanting to do frontier front end swaps on their Xs showing pics of Nissan Paladins. The Paladins came with factory fender flares and all the necessary cut outs in them too for doors and has tank. You think we could use these on our Xs?

The paladin front fenders are more like fronty fenders, and I don't think the rear bulges out like an xterra, nonetheless I have tried to order them before and was never able to get them

Hannemann makes fiberglass fender replacements for our Xs. Our own Danny from Xterra Performance has them on his X.

I've got them on the list of future mods to do.

I'm pretty sure you can make it work. Maybe go inside of the fender.

I sent them an email a few months back about the snorkel situation and they haven't replied.

I think it's entirely possible to make fender flares from another vehicle fit the X... regardless of generation. You would have to do some research though. Figure out what vehicle's flares follow the lines/fenders of your X. I'd look at Jeeps and 4Runners.. FJ cruiser.. Tacoma.. Grand Cherokee etc...

My advice is to keep an eye out on Craigslist.. go check some out and hold them up to the X. If you think you can make them work then make an offer. That's the easiest way to do it. Fender flares end up on CL a lot. Go check out a few from different vehicles and see what works. Plus they'll be used/cheaper than buying new. Modify them, bedline them and install.. easy.

They're plastic. Plastic can be modified.. cut up and re-shaped pretty easily. I'm planning on doing this at some point. I'm going with steel though and custom.

I tried looking into this a while back when I still had the first gen. If I recall, the older cherokee model bushwacker flares were pretty close, at least in the front. problem was figuring out a way to make the ones for the rear work with the back door being so close to the wheel well and all. The only way I could figure was get the ones for the two-door and cut em (four-door version measurements didn't line up close enough), with one piece on the door and another behind (like they sell pre-separated for the 4-door), but I just never got it to a point in my mind where I could visualize it working. HOWEVER...Steeze, you might be the guy who could take it where I was afraid to go...

The XJ Bushwhacker flares had a separate section that attached to the door because they had the same problem.

Correct but their separate section didn't line up with ours...thus me thinking about taking the two-door version (no separate sections) and cutting them

Yeah I know I could do it. It would require some cutting maybe some bending and definitely some fiberglass. It can be done though for sure. Ill keep an eye out for a cheap set on Craigslist. If I can find a set ill do it just to show you all it can be done. Plus I like doing that kind of stuff..
