Nah, if it were me I'd just go black. You can't really see skids until you're under there anyway, so why make 'em all flashy? If I were hanging skids on my X, I'd go black on all of them but the radiator skid - and I'd paint that SOB something nice and bright. I vote neon green, but I also really like the idea of camo.

I did get them off of craigslist from Louisville. The guy was moving out of state. He had the skids on the same color and year as mine. He sold it a while back.

I have tried to glitter mine. I used a clear coat that when the sun hits it its "suppose" to shimmer. It doesn't.
Maybe when it's time for a touch up i'll just throw glitter on the wet paint. LOL

You could also paint a graphic of some sort on the front skid, dunno what your style is but a big ol' Jolly Roger might look cool. Punisher skull, 'Merican flag, flame job, spatter paint, paintball spray could look cool. Something that you wouldn't mind getting beat up of course.
