My buddy an I were driving past the scrap yard yesterday an stopped in the see if they had any metal to practice our welding techniques on. An offer and a pick up truck later we get out with a nice rugged thing like this!

Thanks guys. Still need to work on bead laying, but shield cleans it up so much more. I'll be adding a shelf today and cleaning up the welds smooth.

How thick is the top on it? One of the nicest parts of a welding cart is using the cart itself as the ground. If the top is thick enough you can drill and tap it for alignment jigs, and clamps.

Great find anyway that you look at it.

Prob around 1/8" so far been working perfect as a ground. Going to reinforce for a small vice.

Finishing up.

Looks completely horrendous! Y'all should stay far, far away from tools.

And, seeing as I'm a nice guy, I'm willing to take all of that off your hands FOR FREE! I know. I know. It's a burden I thrust on to myself and need no thanks or praise.

:)

Looks great man. Amazing ingenuity there.

I just picked up a Lincoln Weld-Pak 100 to practice with. I haven't welded in about ten years so I wanted something to play with before I took the big plunge.

Hold up...this is your first welding project?

I thought you said it was something to practice on like you did not have a lot of experience but if that is your first project then that is just great what you came up with and how it turned out.

Haha. Yeah man. Before this it was just a couple pieces of scrap metal and then the cart. The welds are solid, full penetration for the most part. Still have a lot to learn. Next project is a Kuma like rack for the back of the X.
