Transmission shot need some love

Hey XN community,

I spent most of the day playing the good offroader card and helped many people out of snow banks and up hills, but i think my transmission finally took the shot it couldn't handle, the drive way...

I let my friend pull it into the drive way over the 2 foot pile of snow the plow left, and he got stuck, put it in reverse (auto trans) and put his foot on the gas. Nothing happened. no noise no shudder, just nada. I checked it out, and tried shifting in R,N,D,2,1 and all 4x4, no movement. Checked under the truck to a couple small drips of black on snow... and the sound of engine power doesn't seem to even make it to the transfer case.

I have been having some small shifting issues from P>D or N>R where i get a 2 second lag in shifting power, but thought it just might be the 230k miles on the damn thing.

Any thoughts are welcome.

If you weren't so far, I'd sell you my spare + TC.

With 230 it may be time for a rebuild. If you can find a shop to do it.. Mine has 220k on it and I can tell it doesn't shift as well as it should..

Check to make sure you didn't just break any linkage or anything, I did that on an old Ford going over a snow bank I high center and tore the shift linkage loose.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm in the market I think for a new TC. I checked the linkages and didn't see any issues. The snow and cold is a collet when trying to check it out.
