Tire size upgrade on stock wheel.

I've got an '04 running stock 265/75r16's. I'm looking to mildly upgrade my ride when I put new tires on in the spring. I don't want to add a lot of lift but would be ok with either a PML or 2" BL. With either of these options what sizes can I run without cutting any metal on the car. I have no issues cutting or reshaping plastic.

I feel like I read somewhere that I could do 285's or 31's with just a 2" BL but I can't seem to find it again. I'm sorry if I am asking something that has already been answered elsewhere.

Thanks.

265/75/16 is a 32" tire. It is one size up from stock.

A PML adds no room for tire clearance. It changes your clearance at ride height, but the suspension can still flex and cycle through the same positions...so you will just end up hitting/rubbing when you flex or hit bumps.

A 2" body lift will clear 285/75/16 or 33" tires.

That's what I thought too but the mod bug took over and hasn't let go

Could look into running pizza cutters if you want bigger tires but don't wanna cut awhole lot (255/85/16s). Still a 33 just narrower. Fewer manufactures though

They're still an inch (+/-) wider than the stock 265s, IIRC.

255 mm is narrower, not wider, than 265 mm.

:D

Also, 305/70/16 is even better for traction/flotation than 285/75/15. (Both are 33's, but the 305/70/16 is more like a 33x12.5/15 equivalent than the 285/75/16 is)
