Are there any other (bigger) Nissan throttle bodies that fit? Haven't really seen anyone talk about this before, only getting a stock one bored out. Was reading on titan talk today while in a waiting room about swapping an ls2/ls3 tb (90mm) on a titan, got me thinking. Just curious.

There was a company that would bore out the throttle body and add a larger butterfly but they are no longer around... And from what I read it didn't help much if you didn't port and polish the entire intake

I really don't know enough about all the different nissans out there to know what engine parts fit on what other than the more common things like the alternator and a few other things here and there. The write-up on titantalk pretty much was a stock titan intake manifold with the plate that the throttle body would mount to cut off. That same plate was cut off of the ls2/ls3 intake manifold and epoxyed to it with some awesome epoxy. There was a bit more to it with a wiring harness but as far as fitment goes, that's about it. Just wondering why no one ever did that for ours. We wouldn't need a wiring harness, only a cable driven throttle body. (i didn't read the whole write up but I'm assuming the wiring harness was for electronic throttle body? I could be TOTALLY wrong here) either way, junk yard tb and some spare time? Maybe there is one that would fit with very limited modification? Who knows?

I'd be willing to give that a go if I had a spare TB and intake. I'd let em do the whole thing.

The VH45DE throttle body is 90mm, and can be found in junkyards pretty easy. It's popular with the (240SX) SR & KA folks running over 500hp. The P12 Primera's SR20VE had a 72mm t-body

What may be difficult for the 2nd gens is that we have a throttle by wire system instead of a cable actuated butterfly. But I am going to look into other VQ series engines and see what I can find. Possibly something from a Z or Infiniti of some kind...

EDIT: Well, The 370Z uses two smaller throttle bodies, so that won't be of much use, unless the entire intake could be fitted to the VQ40. I'm not willing to spend money guinea pigging that just yet. The search continues...

I dont think it would accomplish much going bigger. I polished mine and the throttle body isn't much smaller than the intake manifold. Maybe 5 to 7 mm from what I remember. And since our intake manifold and throttle body on the first gen has coolant running through it I dont know how much I would be willing to port it without being afraid of going too far. Porting it to the point that they are the same size would reduce some turbulence but isn't going to gain you any power.
