The CB and AM/FM antenna are two different antenna technologies. The splitter kind of tries to compensate for it but in the end it does a bad job of making both work over the same antenna. I was always getting really high SWR readings and the FM reception was atrocious.

Yeah. Cut that metal support out back behind the radio and it'll go back further. The Cobra 29LX I had was 3" deeper than the Bearcat 880 (great radio bt-dubs) and I managed to get the Cobra all the way up in that bitch.

I can get past the brace but the antenna wire is hitting the duct work behind it. The back of the radio is flush with the back of the cubby.

Yeah I was just telling my daughter I'm going to have to get a new wire for the antenna. Though that connector may work, how big is it? The cable I have is one of the braided ones.get a 90* connector

it attaches between the current cable and the CB. i have one for my current set up and it works well. haven't noticed any changes in SWR

Good lord im exhausted...wasn't even a productive day. Went and looked at furniture at local bougie store. Decided I didn't want to pay that kind of scratch for a couch. Ended up talking to the chick that sold me my bedroom set for like 2 hours bc shes cool af. Not my type of hot though...just a cool chick. So many things I want in that store though. If I had the money to not give any ufcks I'd just go on a shopping spree there and spend easily 50k to decorate the new crib.
