Can you post a link on how the nut is supposed to go?I was looking up what can be wrong with a cb antenna to cause a super high swr......im beginning to think ive had the nut on wrong for like 5 years now....
But my midland 75 would test pretty well but it would also change depending on how i held it
What brand nut we talking about? How about a picture?

As soon as i fixed where the isolation washer was my swr on channel 19 went to a perfect 1....40 = 1.7 and 1 = 1.8.
So with some playing around and in a parking lot i should be able to get that better.

Yeah this really helped to know how it all connects electrically. I think i ended up with things wrong cause thats what gave me the best result bit when it was correct the center post touched the bracket as it went through. So i drilled the hole out while i was at it and everything is great now.that's great thank you. saving this pic for future references

thanks for the insight, I will keep that in mind when I get a new coax cable and re attach everything post swing arm surgery is completeYeah this really helped to know how it all connects electrically. No problem. I wish i had that diagram when i first installed everything. I found the old thread from 2014 where i was having the same issue.thanks for the insight, I will keep that in mind when I get a new coax cable and re attach everything post swing arm surgery is complete
They coming to take you away!HECK!
Cause while effective, it ain't as pretty or preciseI have been wondering this why is mig and tig welding the preferred method these days? Arc welding has been around for who knows how long but everyone turns their nose up at it anymore.
Reminder. If you mount your antenna to the swing arm, make sure and run a dedicated ground cable to the body. You won't get enough ground contact with just the swing arm. I attached an 18ga wire from my antenna mount, tan it with the coax underneath the truck and used a stinger to attach it to the bottom of the tub.thanks for the insight, I will keep that in mind when I get a new coax cable and re attach everything post swing arm surgery is complete

Dude my contractor had me laughing about this. I saw it a couple weeks ago and then we were talking about overhead lights. He goes yea just get a couple titty lights if you want cheap replacements. Immediately thought okay so everyone knows these lights are just that.
