Morning. Time to go to work and start organizing a combat first aid course. 2 full days of tourniquets, would packing and care under fire skills for the infantry. This should be interesting

spent 12 hours today getting a transmitter back online. Had to replace two pieces of hardware and perform three software updates to get it working
I'm having a wierd one too. Older proprietary system, has a P4 cpu/mb wouldn't power on. New power supply got it to spin up, but wouldn't boot. Found older power supply that allowed it to boot. But it's till not working. Ha e to disassemble and hook a monitor to the board so I can see what it's doing.

Maybe. I need to actually see it to know just how proprietary it is. A cmos reset might Bork the whole thing. It's designed to be run headless and is a Linux based OS that runs a media system. Watching the network, the correct ip address came up one time, but the software never showed up on the network.

Then again, it's entirely possible that the cmos battery is dead and that's why it's not booting correctly.

I think the initial problem was a power supply, but these things are proprietary af, and I'm not sure we have a spare sitting around. And we want to replace them with a competitor's product any way.

Meh. All the big boxes are the same to me in that regard. Just depends if you find what you need/want.

I'm limited b/c it's for a b-day present tomorrow & those are my lunch break shopping options. I want to get an indoor window planter, one unit with a few separations in it for herbs. and also about 4 different herbs plants. I saw the planters at big lots a few weeks ago, but they run out of seasonal crap real quick & they're gone already.

Oh well if linux then could be a slew of crap. Most of it easy to resolve...but figuring out where the issue is will be the pain.
