Where are folks buying computers/parts these days? Fry’s was my go to but they went out of business a few years back.

Thanks, wasn’t sure if there was somewhere else since I haven’t bought anything like that for probably 10 years.

What are current thoughts on intel vs amd?

What are you looking at doing? Ive been rocking AMD the past couple upgrades as it better suited me and fit in the budget.

Pure gaming, buy an AMD x3d. Mixed (like video rendering), look at the non-x3d or Intel

I'm team red right now. If you're not doing the latest AAA studio games with their fancy ray tracing, look at amd for graphics as well.

Im team Christmas currently, still rocking a 1080ti. Looking at switching to a 7900xt as soon as I get budget, hitting a few games that the geforce is struggling with, and the wife needs a minor upgrade for her machine (she inherits the old stuff).

Serpentine belt - OEM only or are there trusted aftermarket brands? I’ve bought OEM only up to this point, but now the price is about triple what it was a couple years ago.

A poor kid out by me got his 2008 xterra very stuck in the snow on the weekend. Not sure what he did but from going forwards and backwards many times he cooked something in his trany. Only has park and reverse now. Any insight I can give him. Or is he looking for a new trany now.

Looking for a tranny or rebuilding that one. Friend did that with his Blazer once. failure partly because of rapid shifting from D to R and partly due to the fact it was sittin on the transmission pan and cooling wasn't very good.

I am planning a project that involves expanding the storage in the "hidden trunk" area, which uses the space where the spare tire used to be. Essentially, I'm planning to cut a hole in the body, and place a roughly 20"x7" box that hangs down about 6-7". I want to have it supported by the crossmember where the spare tire chain is in this picture, and the tubular one opposite the space. My question is, should I account for any flex in this area between body and frame?

I originally planned to connect the box to the body with some light welds and bolts or rivets through overlap area, and then have the actual weight supported by the brackets from the crossmembers, but now considering the possibility of even minor flex, I'm wondering if I should leave a gap between the box and body and make some sort of silicone membrane.

Answering my own question by remembering I have offroad video showing the area. There isn’t much movement but there is some, so I’ll have to plan to do a flexible seal where the box is near the body.

Thanks again for the Shrockworks instructions. Asking one more time if anyone has tracked down instructions for the rear bumper and tire carrier? I found them for the first Gen but not second.

And another question. I'm going to upgrade the exhaust adding a dual in single out muffler. Not sure which one yet, probably MagnaFlow. Can I upgrade to 3" tubing from the cats back? Will there still be enough back pressure going up to this size?

The Z1 exhaust uses 3”, so I think you should be okay.

The rear bumper is pretty self explanatory. It's 4 bolts on each side. 3 at the frame horn and one further up at the factory tow hitch mounting position. Then that monster bolt / nylock and washers for the hinge.

Oh sorry, should explain why I’m looking for the instructions. My next assignment is Switzerland, moving the vehicle there in Sep then will come back to the US to learn German. The Swiss vehicle inspection is tough, they don’t like after market modifications. I need the installation instructions to show the after market parts are manufactured specifically for the vehicle and not modified from another vehicle. Still not 100% sure they will pass my vehicle but hoping for the best.

Got it. That makes perfect sense. Here's to hoping they can be found.

Anybody know what the difference is between the flange bolts for 08-11 and 12-15? In my case, I'm connecting a 2015 driveshaft to a 2008 diff, so I'm not sure which to pick. I did reach out to Z1 and ask but figured somebody here might know.

When are "limit straps" necessary? Certain brand of shocks that don't have integrated bump stops? Certain weight and type of wheeling?
